Flowcode 4 Virtual Network Advanced Simulation

http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/images/Article_V4.png The virtual network simulation or VNet is a new feature in V4.1 of Flowcode. The VNet simulation is designed to allow multiple instances of Flowcode to communicate together whilst simulating to provide functionality similar to what would happen ...

Re: Matrix PICmicro Programmer message

Hi Mac Ive seen this message sometimes on my system. I found it would give it if I had certain e-blocks connected to the EB006 when programmming. (Especially on Ports A & B) Have you tried programming the chip with nothing connected to the EB006. I tend to have things disconnected from the ports...

Re: MIAC controlled underfloor heating system

Here is the latest version of my thermostatic heating controller program for the MIAC. MIAC_Underfloor_v1.1.fcf It now has a lot more functionality and allows you to save up to 40 programmable events, direct control of the system, fill and drain modes, temperature setting for each zone, back-off tem...

Ultrasonic Distance sensor using HC-SR04

These sensor modules can be picked up from ebay for as little as £2 from china or Hong Kong or £4 from UK. They work at 5V, and interface directly with microcontroller so do not require any external components for interfacing. Attached is a flowchart created with V5 to measure the distance of an obj...

Re: Ultrasonic Distance sensor using HC-SR04

I have tested in hardware all new feature of V5 like Uint, Long, ULong. None of them work in hardware although they work in simulation.

Have you tested with the print number LCD function? If not then how are you testing?

Re: Flowcode 5 PORT interrupt selectivity

Hi Richard, Some devices have an iocb register which allow you to enable interrupts for individual portb pins. Other devices that do not have an iocb register will have the properties greyed out. This means you will not be able to select port interrupt on change for individual pins. What you will ha...

Link to all data sheets from Microchip: 16F, dsPIC etc.

There is a useful search engine.
Finding correct data sheet is easy.
Even Serial EEPROM Families are included,

Re: disable watchdog in 18F452

I am assuming you would like to keep watchdog enabled, so chip resets if it gets corrupted or locked in a loop? clear_wdt is the command used in assembly language to reset WDT so chip does not get reset. If instead of clear_wdt you use a box with MX_CLEAR_WATCHDOG; Then it is compiler independent so...

Re: EEPROM Question

Hi,

I believe its a pic issue... Benj from MM put me onto it some time ago, and i did follow up on the Microchip website, which confirmed it.

It does not impact all PIC variants, just a few I believe...as a rule now I dont use location zero, just in case.

all the best

Resistor Colour Codes

The resistor colour codes can cause novices some problems. Though not exactly microcontroller based this may be useful to members. This is a simple program I wrote In visual basic several years ago to graphically illustrate the colour codes. Just click on the colour of each band in order and the pro...

Re: Interrupt RB0/INT0 Delay

Hello Enamul, Using the default BoostC compiler the delay functions are built in to the compiler so I don't think there is a way to edit the code behind the function. I may be wrong about this. You could provide your own C functions inside the supplementary code window and then edit the FCD file so ...

Re: Compairing Numbers

Hello. Sometimes it helps to simplify the problem - your program sounds like it has a lot going on which is incidental to the problem you are having. Are you receiving your input data as a byte or as a string? If possible, avoid string processing as it takes needless processing and memory. To compar...

Re: Interrupt RB0/INT0 Delay

Hi Enamul,

Yep I'm fairly confident with this one. The Flowcode code for interrupts hasn't changed in years and I've had no reports of interrupts being triggered multiple times that I can recall.

Re: ADC stability problem

Hello Enamul I guess there is the problem..mapping of Fosc in FC is not matched with IC.. I have been through the FCDs today and updated the ADC component so that in v5.3 for PIC these ADC settings should again line up correctly on all the devices. I believe v5.3 for PIC will be available in the nex...

PWM 18FxxK80 Series MCUs

I have just resolved an issue with the pwm definitions of these MCUs in FC5 which I thought I would share with you. I needed a controller with 5 pwm channels and the K80 family satisfies that. When setting up the pwms in FC, I noticed that the second channel was not working. In the datasheet this is...

Re: Wrong 18F25K22 FCD Timer Definition

Hello, Thanks for the bug spot. The problem was caused because earlier 18F devices used timer 5 in this alternate way and it looks like the code was simply copied over from the earlier devices. I have updated all odd numbered timers for the later PICs now so they should all work correctly and also a...

Re: Pic12F617 PWM not working

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I replaced the sounder with a new one of the same type. And it makes a reasonable sound. So ether it was faulty, or there was a bad soldering. I only have a digital multimeter that can check frequency. There is no need for a new code since an oscillator speed of 8MHZ will g...
