Re: PICkit3 18F45K22 LCD problem

Hello again. I seem to have made some progress with this. When writing to port B of the 18F45K22 (using the standard output), the pins are able to both source and sink reasonable currents however on using the LCD macro to write to port B, there is no ability from the port pins to sink and the pins r...

Re: PICkit3 18F45K22 LCD problem

Hello

I have solved this by setting a longer slew rate for port B by using slrcon=0b00011101;

Thanks to all for suggestions

Switch de-bounce without delays

Hi all.. It may be required to use a push button de-bounce routine without the use of delay functions when timing restraints dictate. This code can either run freely in the main loop or be called by a timed interrupt. I have used three buttons but a different quantity could be used by duplication of...

Re: ADC Component - Acquisition Time Help Please...

Hi James I have found that filling a capacitor across the analog line being sampled improves the ADC stability considerably. This is only effective if the value of the analog sample changes slowly as should be the case, for example, when measuring a power supply current. The capacitor leads should b...

Re: OLED component code change

Hi Ben
Thanks for the offer but I have used a FET to power the OLED, this being enabled after a short delay after the processor starts. Seems to work so far.

Pickit 3 FC7

Hello
Anyone successfully used PICkit3 with FC7 and the new compiler.
PICkit3 works with my MPLAB IPE 3.35 so just wanted to make sure there are no issues beforehand.
thanks guys

Re: ICD3 and FC7

Hi. Could it possibly be that your path has 'V3.30' and you have V3.35 installed.

Re: PH sensing project

hello
I think one problem it that you are reading 12 bits into a byte. The two values from the probe can be bytes but the resultant value of your calculation should be an int. You will have to shift one of the bytes 8 bits to the left. I think the MSB comes out first.
good luck

Re: Port B not working

Hi Ben and thanks for the speedy response once again. Unfortunately that did not work for me. My apologies as my example was more illustrative than functional so here is something more robust. I have used a byte wide input rather than bits and compared Port A to Port B. In test1 raising any Port B p...

User interface ideas

Hello all Here are a few ideas that you may care to consider and implement in Flowcode regarding the user interface. I have included a few minor glitches which possibly have been mentioned before by others. 1. Notes field. I find that when developing something I keep a word processing program on han...

Re: UART receive problem

Turns out this was a bad solder joint on the SMD receive pin of my device. Sometimes when it made a contact it would work well and when open would cause a timeout (255)

Sorry if I misled anyone

Re: User interface ideas

Hi
Variable case sensitivity for instance finds. A variable is case insensitive whereas an instance find is case sensitive. A variable defined as TestOne is allowed to be written as Testone however the instance find only then finds TestOne occurrences.

Re: Timer not working

Hi Ben It may be of use to you to know that I have duplicated this problem on a different chip type from the same family. In this example I have enabled each timer, TMR1 TMR3 TMR5, one at a time to deliver about 30Hz. These are the results.. TMR1 correctly flashes the attached LED at 1Hz TMR3 does n...

Re: UART not working after latest patch

Hi Ben Thanks I have followed your instructions and it has worked. On both projects UART1 and UART2 are being used and as best I can tell,on both, UART1 had been assigned to UART 2 and UART2 was not working. On the Properties I swopped channel number 1&2 and then swopped them back again and it s...
