Re: Converting EB005 display control to I2C

Hi Brendan.
Programming Tips & Tricks is not for questions or technical support.
It's only for people who are posting tips, tricks and sharing their working Flowcharts.
So I have moved your post to a more relevant part of the forums.

Re: Using FlowKit in Flowcode V6

Hello Brendan, The existing Flowkit will work fine with 3v3 signals. Though I do appreciate what your saying say if say we wanted to go down below 2.5V. v6.1 is planned for early next year but this is subject to change. We are working on the ICD and ICT aspects at the minute as we want to be able to...

Re: Brainstorm for interface.

Hi, You know you can select the components using the drop down located directly below the "Components" label? There is no need to have the dashboards open for that. I too would like the position information the be collapsed by default and only shown when explicitly expanded. Or may-be have...

Re: Brainstorm for interface.

Afternoon. I too would like the position information the be collapsed by default and only shown when explicitly expanded. Or may-be have a 'modeling' and 'embedded' mode. When working on embedded code I'm interested in the properties, not the appearance of the component. This will be the next build ...

Re: A few thoughts...

Afternoon Brendan. 1. I find the pop-up box, declaring total run time after stopping code execution, merely irritating and never useful. The ability to disable it would be welcome. This has been asked for a few times. It is something I keep meaning to do, and is not a big job at all so I will try to...

Custom component directories

Hi. As we launch updates and get towards a release, the components directory in Flowcode may well change its contents. If you write your own components and prefer to use your own folder for these (as I do) you can set up other folders Flowcode will search for your components. This will make telling ...

Re: A few thoughts...

3. As a basic productivity feature, the ability to group-select flow icons and create a new macro from selected would be good (e.g. Select > Right-click > Create New Macro). Possibly coupled with an option to simultaneously convert the selected icons in the flow to the newly-created macro at the sa...

Re: Bug in the Flowcode 6.0.3

Hello.

Thanks, we will look into this.

We were due for a 6.0.4, but want to get things nice and stable for this patch, so if I can find the issue will get it in that.

Re: Basic Compiler Error - Any clues?...

Hi Brendan.

Can you post (or PM if needed) the fcfx program. Doesn't sound like there should be any issues with the program, but BoostC is pretty good at refusing to show any error messages just when you need them.

Re: Basic Compiler Error - Any clues?...

Hi Brendan. I have the latest build available here and your PM'd program compiles fine for me. There have been quite a few fixes gone in to this build, so its possible one of them caught the issue, though I can't see anything in the logs directly relating to I2C. We are aiming to release the next pa...

Re: Basic Compiler Error - Any clues?...

No probs Brendan. BoostC and the launchers have had issues with virus scanners before now. I have changed the launchers a bit for the next patch but virus scanners can be pretty overzealous, so never know.

Cheers for letting us know.

Evening. There are a couple of changes in this release that will hopefully address two of the main issues raised on our forums. Re: Decision Question

Hi Brendan, that's a good idea if the result is stored in an 16 bit int. When the question was fist asked it was unknown want the value of variables were. So if all variables were bytes you add the bytes when say Timer1Status = 1,Timer2Status = 255,Timer3Status = 0,Timer4Status = 0,Timer5Status = 0,...

Re: Decision Question

Hi.

It would work if you orr the variables together: (A | B | C...) == 0

Upside is it is compact and produces less code. Downside is it is slower if the first value is zero (in which case && will not check any following values).

Cheers,

Jonny

Re: Analyzing RS232 signals

I would say yes. If you set the scope to trigger on falling edge. Then minimum duration of each bit = 1/baud rate. So if baud rate is 9600 then each bit = 1/9600 = 0.000104 = 104uS Total duration of the bits (including star bit) you need to measure is 1/9600 *9 = 938uS rounding up to 1ms in total. s...

Re: Wattage Rating of ESD diodes on a PIC[Solved]

Hi Brendan, Thanks for the useful information. The reason I limit current to uA instead of mA is because if you limit to uA when connected to mains, then transient spikes should not be an issue. If you limit to mA and connect to the mains then even though normally current will but OK, any transient ...

Re: Cannot store data to PIC18F4680 data EEPROM

It turns out this is not a Flowcode issue. I finally found a way to fix it after reading this post in the sourceboost forums: http://forum.sourceboost.com/index.php?showtopic=5020 Here is an example of supplementary code that loads data into the eeprom starting at eeprom location zero: #pragma DATA ...
