Re: programming for HD44780 16x2 OLED?

Well I have made some progress. As you can see in the FC file it is not pretty and would not be very nice nor efficient That is why I would really like to see a FC component made, or a modification to the existing LCD component. So that I can use component macros instead of doing it this way. http:/...

Re: String length problems

Hi Ben (or anyone really) This did the trick. but I think the PIC18F4550 is out of memory because I have two strings with max size [80], one with [40], one with [16] plus almost 40 variables which are mostly Byte size but one is ULong I can increase this custom code to 64, but anything past that is ...

Re: will this graphic VFD work?

Sorry for the very late reply but now I have tested with my powersupply (ATX from a computer) and it works. I could not feed the display from the breadboard so I had to feed it directly from the ATX power supply which also feeds the breadboard with the PIC etc on it.

Re: I2C questions with TLC59116

Here is the flowcode file and a small video showing what it will/should look like.

Remember that the TLC59116 can only sink so if you want to use RGB LEDs, choose the correct ones.

Re: Optimising code (Things take too long)

Thanks Leigh. I have now put everything in the main loop and calling macros from there instead of doing stuff in the Interrupt macros. It did in fact improve things quite a bit. It is still not as fast as I would have liked bit less IR codes are "lost" and the remote feels more responsive....

Re: dsPIC33EP512MU814 config questions

I would really like to see full support for all functions this device has to offer, especially everything that has to do with USB functions like OTG etc.
More settings under project configuration like clock switching etc might be a good idea maybe?

Re: ADC reading higher voltage than Vdd?

VDD + 0.3V
VSS - 0.3V
So I am well within the limits. And for the record, the ADC value does NOT roll over if the voltage read is slightly higher than VDD.

UTFT component? perfect for many graphic displays

I would very much like to see UTFT from http://www.henningkarlsen.com/electronics/ made into a FC component. It would make life a lot easier when using newer and more powerful graphic displays like the 5" touch screen I will be trying, with a resolution of 800x480 and integrated SDRAM for much ...

Re: OLED display suggestions?

I ordered the cheaper ones. Minimum order was 2 but that's ok. I hope to use SPI since I haven't tried SPI before and it seems nice to only have to use 4 wires.

Re: Vinculum 1 USB Host Controller - Component

Carriage return (how to get one entry per line) is working for me now. I am logging a temperature reading to log.csv as a test. the temperature is a string value so it was looking like this before: example: Temperature_String = 24.234567 Calculation: Log_String = Temperature_String + "," (...

Re: Noise ADC readings.

Have you tried using the ADC RAW average component macro? First enable ADC RAW Then use the RAW AverageINT or AverageBYTE and put for example 16 samples with a 1000us interval time Try that. I get much more stable results with this method. You probably have a small value capacitor between GND and th...

NRF24L01+ 2.4gHz communication

Don't know if this qualifies as a feature but I would like to suggest a component is made for these. I have tried my hand at these but there are so many routines and macros needed to get this to work with even the most basic features/functions. That's why I think it would be a good candidate for a a...

Re: ADC IC

I just ordered a couple of LTC2400 24 bit ADCs and a couple of LTC6655 voltage references to try to build me a nice 5.5 or 6.5 digit volt meter. There are quite a lot of info over on the EEVBlog forum about this. http://youtu.be/VPHH26H3gyY http://www.eevblog.com/forum/projects/ppmgeek!-5-5-digit-dv...

Re: PIC SPI communication questions

I don't have a lot of experience with the SPI component in FC but I usually bit bang SPI and then you could send one bit at the time for as many bits as you need by doing: SCLK pin=1 SDO=Variable AND 0x80 SDO pin=SDO SCLK pin=0 SCLK pin=1 SDO=variable AND 0x40 SDO pin=SDO SCLK pin=0 and so on. (0x80...

Re: DS3231 - RTC Time Keeper (98% Done)

I designed a breakout board for the DS3231 on Friday night last week and got that ordered. I also ordered some other components from Mouser this week. I'll test the component as soon as I have all components. Jordy is receiving a complete board as thanks for his efforts. I'll be using the DS3231 RTC...

Re: DS3231 - RTC Time Keeper (Waiting For Test Results)

I've been testing Jordy's custom component since I got home today and some issues have been discovered and sent to Jordy. These are all regarding the functions of the INT/SQW pin. I'm sure we'll get that sorted in a jiffy.

I have not yet made a PCB for the SSD1305 so I guess I could do one version with and one without for that one as well.

Hi LeighM Thanks, now it works! I don't even need the "http://" part so I removed that and it worked (I had my strings set to [40] which was way to small, now at [80] it works fine) Best day in a VERY long time :) Got the Sim900 working, sending data to my hosted MySQL database. Thanks aga...
