Semiconductor Temperature Sensors

I have, over the last couple of years experimented with several different types of solid stare temperature sensor devices. These mostly have a direct mV/°C output. The biggest problem with most of them is they don't measure negative temperatures, exceptions to this are normally more complex to use. ...

Re: Interrupt Driven Question of Support

Hi Brian, MOD also known as the C constructor % is basically performing a modulus operation, its a bit like saying this is the maximum rollover value so: 3 mod 5 = 3 4 mod 5 = 4 5 mod 5 = 0 6 mod 5 = 1 7 mod 5 = 2 The Rx_Data[100] is basically an array of 100 elements each with the same properties a...

spi 12bit digital to analog chip

i'm using a microchip mcp4921, these chips are easy to use with the spi protocol, since this is a 12bit dac, you can get 4096 different values, using a 5v referance 5volts/4096 = .001220703125 mv_per_step to figure out which number to send to the spi port for desired output voltage is easy to chip_s...

Re: Schematic Drawing Program

Hello, We have thought about either adding a schematic feature into Flowcode or interfacing with another companies product to allow connections etc to be assigned, components auto added to the panel etc. It would also work in reverse as you could generate a schematic from your Flowcode program. Just had a look at that myself, will have a try looks interesting Just a caution, the installer tries to get you to install real player and some scanner software. This page has a load of screen shots https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=tinycad&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=lY0...

Digital speed indicator for Goss HT70 press for RTF rollers

I work for a print company in New Zealand and at our factory we have 3 Goss HT 70 newsprint double width offset printing presses. Each press has five print towers that feed the printed product into a folder. Within the printing process it is required that a tension is maintained upon the web (contin...

Re: Macro call directly from a variable

There's probably a complicated way to do it in C (pointer to function ?), but what you made is how I'd do it.
There's no way you can call a function just from setting a variable to a specific value.

The example below has been setup to demonstrate phonemes too and the memory address has been set correctly to match the suggested address on the current target device (EC...

Re: Additional module for standard version

Hi. Originally we wanted a component 'market place' to be online, but time and infrastructure has meant this could not be done for v6.0. Component packs are possible in Flowcode, and the components are split this way, its just down to marketing and sales as to how these things are supplied. Personal...

Re: Version 5.5 memory space

There is no option to display bytes if you are using PIC12/PIC16 devices. For PIC18 the default is bytes (as can be seen in the example I posted earlier). The information displayed is using the same unit the limit is expressed in, so the limit for PIC12/PIC16 is 4K words and for PIC18 it is 8K bytes...

I have attached a Flowchart which should allow more switches to be added if necessary.
There are other ways of doing this, If you want an alternative then let me know.

Re: Macro call directly from a variable

Hello. In C you would do something like: // Type of function to be calling typedef int (PROTOTYPE)(int Arg); // Function definitions int Func1(int Arg) { return Arg + 1; } int Func2(int Arg) { return Arg + 2; } // Lookup table of functions static const PROTOTYPE Callbacks[] = { &Func1, &Func...

Re: Custom 7Segment display characters

Spanish_dude wrote:PS: I always forget which bit value sets the I/O as output in a TRIS register.

Nice easy way to remember:

I as in Input looks like a 1

O as in Output looks like a 0

So with TRIS register:
Use 1 for Input
Use 0 for Output

Re: Calculate with 16 bits value

Hello Rinie, First of all you can combine two 8-bit bytes into a 16-bit variable like this. Int = (Byte_MSB << 8) + Byte_LSB This way you can store into 16-bit unsigned integer variables straight away. You can then perform averaging by doing something like this. IntOld = Int IntOldOld = IntOld Int =...

Re: Using Embedded EEPROM on an AVR chip

Hello,

There is a potential problem with the EEPROM component write with PIC micros if an interrupt is enabled.

The code to drive the EEPROM should already disable any active interrupts just while it performs the write.

Re: Compiler errors

Hi Xavier, The problem with your flowchart is all to do with your timer interrupt! With a timer interrupt must be able to exit normally at the bottom of the macro, and be as short as possible. E.g Don't use loops that are long or repeat for ever and don;t have a call macro to leave interrupt. If you...
