Re: "usb_serial_config.h": No such file or directory

Just to update - Sorry it's been a while  Port 80 was reportedly always open, so given that I have the same license on my personally-owned machine I arbitrarily copied general and updated files/directories from my personal computer to my work computer. The only difference between machines bein...

Setting PIC32MX and PIC32MZ Clock Options

Re-posting my comments made elsewhere... Hi Guys. As MX and MZ clock settings feature strongly in this thread, I thought I'd share something that I came across and enabled me to quickly confirm appropriate clock settings and transfer them to configuration option in Flowcode. No reliance on Harmony o...

Re: Microchip questions for you all.

Hi Guys. As MX and MZ clock settings feature strongly in this thread, I thought I'd share something that I came across and enabled me to quickly confirm appropriate clock settings and transfer them to configuration option in Flowcode. No Harmony, no other info, and it just worked! I therefore recomm...

Re: "usb_serial_config.h": No such file or directory

Thanks again Ben - I've no doubt you're on the money (again :) )

I'll report back once I've contacted IT to open port 80 for Flowcode.

Best regards,

SOLVED: Re: "usb_serial_config.h": No such file or directory

Thanks Ben - You're a star !!! :D I replaced the existing USB_Serial.fcpx file with that you kindly provided and the project built straight off the bat without a hitch. I suspect that FC8 would have updated to latest if the updates database worked. If, in the meantime, you have any thoughts on that,...

Re: "usb_serial_config.h": No such file or directory

Thank you Ben - Very much appreciated. Following your message I noted that the confirmed directry under root was hidden, so I un-hid it and unzipped the provided files to the directed folder - noting that the same number of files existed (and usb_serial_config.h was in there) but I over-wrote them a...

"usb_serial_config.h": No such file or directory

Hi Guys. I had occasion to reinstall Flowcode 8 on a new work machine (Windows 10). All went well and everything appeared to work, until I tried to use the USB Serial component when programming ECIO40P16. In short, build termination due to the following error report: Device: PIC16.33E.ECIO40P16 Gene...

That's fantastic - Thanks Ben :!: :D :D :D

I'm currently between working from home and supporting contractors identifying/fixing an underground water leak, so may take a while but will certainly post back with results from boards fitted with PICs exibiting this issue.

Re: PIC32MZ UART Baud Rate

Thank you Ben - Entirely appreciated. Aware of three 'A' silicon versions and one 'B' version, I can confirm from what I'm coding that this particular issue manifests with ver. A3 silicon (assuming all A3 is equal!). The trouble is that when designing MCUs into products you really don't want to be r...

PIC32MZ UART Baud Rate

I'm coding embedded test code for a PIC32MZ2048EFG144 and have discovered that the Baud setting in the UART component must be set to precisely double the required Baud rate for comms to work, otherwise the usual garbled chars. In a C block I've attempted to force changes to PBCLK2 prescaler ( PB2DIV...

Re: PIC32MZ UART Troubles - Pulling my hair out...

Thanks Stefan regarding the BOOTISA register. Once set I was seeing comms, but garbled random characters. After disabling all the C blocks I'd created in my frustrations to manually set registers, and after further experimentation, I discovered that the actual comms Baud rate was precisely half of t...

Re: PIC32MZ UART Troubles - Pulling my hair out...

Hi Stefan. Many thanks for the pointer regarding MIPS32, which wasn't set as prescribed. That's one positive step forward for sure :) Unfortunately, the PIC32MZ has all the hallmarks of poor silicon rushed to market, particularly as... Re: UART CRC Check

As I use CRCs with Flowcode a lot (particularly Maxim 1-wire, etc), and assuming you've got 256 Bytes of program memory to spare for an 8-bit CRC, I'd like to chip in with a popular alternative of pasting a 256-byte table (relevant to your CRC polynomial) to the Flowcode LUT component. Such CRC tabl...

PIC32MZ UART Troubles - Pulling my hair out...

Hello All. I'm wondering if seasoned experts amongst us could shed any light... I've been pulling my hair out trying to get a single basic UART channel working on the PIC32MZ2048EFG144. 100MHz system clock settings suitably confirmed as UART Tx/Rx works perfectly fine in software mode at 115.2kbps, ...

Re: Custom Macro Colours in the Project Explorer

Thanks Ben - Much appreciated :)

I'm presently doing something similar, with untested and problem macros preceded by underscore, so it shoves them to the bottom and avoids visual clutter.

Still loving FC8 by-the-way :D

All the very best,

Custom Macro Colours in the Project Explorer

I'm presently working on a project that has over 60 custom macros for a multi-function test platform - and growing. A huge part of this exercise in the development phase is to test and debug the various macros, and would therefore be great to be able to custom-colour the individual macro icons in th...

Commercial or Industrial Temperature?

Hi team. I often use the great convenience of eBlocks in professional projects, though on this occasion I'm looking for a board with a good/fast 16-bit or 32-bit PIC with as much I/O on offer, that offers industrial temperature tolerance and on-board 3V3 regulation. I suspect that the majority (if n...

Re: *Possible* bug - USB Serial get-string timeout.

Thanks Ben (sorry I've taken a while to reply). Understood and duly noted. Certainly no hardship to process incoming data Byte-wise and build a string in the loop, and I like to avoid all unnecessary complications. Understanding the issue better, we'll just stick with that approach for all USB232 Rx...

*Possible* bug - USB Serial get-string timeout.

Hello all - Long time no speak (FC7 serving us well :) ) I haven't filed this under a bug report, though an observation perhaps worthy of consideration... Re: Software I2C for 36 channels - Will it work?

UPDATE:

I've since managed to find and switch to suitable SPI devices, so much easier to control logical CSBs and not have to deal with potential I2C bus hangs and power-cycling.

An interesting question though, for possible future reference.

Many thanks,
Brendan
