Real Time

Hello Benj/Steve. I hope you can point me in the right direction for a project I have in mind. A pump will be switched on and off depending on various switch settings and voltage levels (I can do this bit), but I need to log the Real Time/Date at which these events take place onto a removable storag...

Re: Connecting a alphanumeric LCD to Flowcode

Good morning Benj.

Whilst on the subject of LCD displays, I note that you have tried many types. Have you found any which are push-fits into a rectangular hole and perhaps with multipin plug/sockets for the electrical connections ? I need to make a neat-looking job in a plastic box.

Regards, Gnu.

Re: Connecting a alphanumeric LCD to Flowcode

Do the pins 7-10 need to be grounded or is it OK to leave them floating?

Power Supply to Multiprogrammer

I am using the multiprogrammer, EB006-00-06, in conjunction with some additional components on a separate board which is being powered by a switch-mode plugtop power supply with an regulated DC output of 18 volts. Will it be OK to use this 18v supply to power the EB006 ?

EEPROM Storage

Is it possible to store the 10-bit output from the ADC in a 16F88 in its EEPROM, using Flowcode, perhaps by storing 5 bits in two separate locations ? If so, what is the neatest way of getting the number out again ?

Regards

I've had the same error message when compiling a program to a PIC16F88 which had definitely not been code-protected. In spite of the warning, I found that the program had been correctly compiled into the chip. In the same program I was having problems with an LCD displaying random gibberish and so c...

Download Flowcode

I am in the process of getting a new computer. Can I download Flowcode again without buying another copy ? I am using V3.2.2.40 Pro on my existing machine.

Exporting Macros

I exported a macro which writes various messages on a 2 x 16 LCD, but when I imported this macro into another program, all the properties within the LCD component macros had disappeared. Any ideas ? Other macros without embedded component macros seem to work OK in both directions. I am using V3.2.2....

Flowcode Arrays

Sorry to keep plaguing you! However, I have just tried a few simulations, and the Flowcode V3 progam crashes if the array declaration is greater than [35].

Flowcode Arrays

Thanks for this supplementary information, Steve. I am using a 16F88 at the moment, but this isn't set in stone. Ideally I need to store 75 integers in the array; however, I can probably get round the problem by using more than one array.

Rotary Encoder

I have been using a 10K continuous mechanical rotation potentiometer (Radiospares Number 460-2048) as a rotary encoder with some success for a long time. If fed 5 volts across the winding, the wiper can be read by a PIC ADC giving a voltage proportional to angle. The drawbacks are that there is a sm...

Steve, Thanks for the useful reply. In answer to your query, the chance of entering and reading a string rather than 4 hex numbers would be a really useful addition (for me). At the same time, would you consider two other changes ? 1 When printing a flowchart, only the description, not the name, app...

Is it possible, using Flowcode and PPP, to enter some form of signature, eg 'Program X May 2007' into a PIC, which can then be read by PPP at a later date for contents identification purposes ?

Output Current

Is it possible to increase the source current on a 16F88 by sending binary 1 to two bits of a port and then paralleling these outputs (subject to the maximum current for the entire port/chip) ?
