using flowkit with ECIO
Hello, Do you have any examples on using the flowkit with ECIO. I tried a simple program on the ECIO-28 and attached it to the flowkit. It says "COULD NOT COMMUNICATE WITH ICD. PLEASE CONNECT AN APPROPRIATE ICD UNIT (EG. EB006 V7) AND TRY AGAIN. Does this mean I have to connect it to the EB-006? sho...

Re: PID Control
I understand it's better to use PID on a 10-bit device due to the difficulty in computing without going below or above 255. Maybe if you could send the same PID program in your example with a few more "NOTES" and information so that we can edit it to suit our application. It would be easier to learn...

Re: E-blocks MP3 Player
Hello Benj, I am using your EB-005 LCD Board. I just want to be sure I don't damage the LCD Board. However it is working when the jumper is connected to the +14v of the EB-006 programmer board. It doesn't have any display when connected to the +V of the EB-006 Board. The EB-006 Board is uses externa...

Re: E-blocks MP3 Player
Hello Benj, Eager to start while waiting for the MMC/SD Card Reader, I tried to work with what I had--the LCD Board and Keypad with the PIC16f877A on the EB-006. When I tried the air to fuel ratio example on flowbook, I couldn't get a display out. When connecting the LCD board power to +14v of the E...

Re: E-blocks MP3 Player
Hi Benj, Thanks for the clarification. I realize that I do not need to play MP3. WAV files would be fine. It is really your article that I should work with and take it a step further by incorporating the command inputs through the keypad and maybe some switches as an added feature. This means that t...

E-blocks MP3 Player
Hello, I am thinking of building an E-blocks MP3 player. Is this possible if I were to use the following: 1. EB-061 with ECIO-40 2. EB-021 MIDI Board to output to earphones or speakers 3. EB-037 SD/MMC Card Reader to store the music 4. EB-005 LCD Board to show status (playing, pause, stop) and music...

PID Control
I have seen the PID example and I'm sorry it's too complicated for me. Is there a simple way of doing PID control?
I would like to set the PWM speed to slow down when approaching the target and slowly go back if it overshoots. Does it have to be THAT complicated?

Re: MIAC Volt Meter
Thanks Medelec for the demonstration. I was really using this for my educational purposes---as a way to learn more about accurate ADC reading for other applications.
Now, I will attempt to apply the concept on a 16F88 or 16F877a.
Thanks again!

Re: MIAC Volt Meter
Thanks Sean! That works fine.
Errr...can we work around the computations to get another digit? I want to get figures like 1.234 volts?
Is the factor really 2 or is it 1.96 or another number?
Thanks again!

MIAC Volt Meter
I tried the Digital Volt meter sample program on my MIAC. That works fine resulting it voltage readings of up to 1 decimal point. In my attempt to get a reading of up to 2 decimal points, I edited the program and when I download this to my MIAC, I get a zero reading instead. Can you please check my ...

Steve, just tell me if you want me to try something out so I can still get my 4.3 going.

Re: Errors after update to Flowcode 4.3
My anti virus software Norman has always been there. Why should it cause any problem now?
What do you suggest I do as an immediate solution to be able to use my Flowcode again? I wouldn't mind trying it again later to help give you info but just for emergency purposes, do I just do system restore?

Re: Errors after update to Flowcode 4.3
Hello Steve,
I'm running on windows 7 64-bit. Sorry, I don't know how to check the registry thing.
The program i am trying to run has ADC, PWM and switches.
I hope this helps.
By the way, I didn't try to install the full version of Flowcode V4.3. I only did the patch.
Thanks!

Re: Errors after update to Flowcode 4.3
The same thing happened to me. It says : "Flowcode could not load one of the components in the file because it is not registered on this machine. Install the necessary components before this file." I think it's referring to the PWM and ADC components. Creating a new file works. Help! I need to work ...

Hello,
Sorry but I didn't get how to produce sine wave in flowcode
How is this done in flowcode for sine wave to go negative?
I would like to try to do this too using PIC16F628a.

Thanks Medelec I think I can work with 122hz and I don't want to confuse my loops with the interrupt timer
That idea should come in handy for another application, though

Thanks so much for pointing that out. It's fine now. I know i need a 1mhz crystal to get 61hz. Unfortunately, we can't find a 1mhz in the market at the moment

Can we still lower clock speed for PWM?
Hello, I am trying to program a 16F877a using the EB-006 Board with clock speed set =1,000,000 Hz PWM is set at Period=255 Clock Source= clk/16 Crystal we are using is 19mhz. This is supposed to have a frequency of 61.03516 Hz. When we test the 16f877a with a scope, we read 1kHz. Its as if the clock...

Re: Flowcode 4 & ECIO-28
WOW! I believe it IS a memory problem.
The ECIO-28 has a steady light on when the program is to simply light up some LEDs.
I guess I'll just go ahead and use the ECIO-40 for my application.
Thanks Benj for your quick reply. More power to you and Matrix Multimedia!

Flowcode 4 & ECIO-28
I was able to compile and program the ECIO-40 with Flowcode 4.1.1.55 on Windows vista. At first the device manager did not recognize the ECIO and if ever it does, it would be for only a second- not enough time to untick the power management option. This was solved when I used the ECIO programmer and...

I once found someone's post with an attached program with the fading LED. When simulating his program, the LEDs Component actually fades. His LEDs Component even has 3 colors in one component RED-GREEN-BLUE. Sorry, I can't find the thread right now. How is this done? How do we give individual LEDs t...

Re: 16F88 (xtal-lvp) on V4
Hi Benj, I tried to change target chip to 16f88 on V3 and opened it on V4. I was able to open it. I configured the target chip and tried: 1. xtal 2. xtal and enabled LVP 3. autodetect For your info, I'm using Vista SP1. Upon compiling to chip on my HP-488 board, it simply says Launching the compiler...
