Well, I take that back. I have solved my own problem. There appears to be a miss-match when doing 'In Use' only updates. I have just done a full system update (using the up-date feature of FC8) and the problem has gone away. Yeh.
Hi Everyone Well, I though I must be going daft. probably am, but where has all my display gone? They have for some reason disappeared from the 'Displays' and can now only be accessed via 'Misc' menu through the search option. This is very odd as I have done nothing to the settings. :( FC8_Displays_...
Hi Steve Thank you for your quick reply. I have solved this issue regarding the dialog box, as it does appear for me on my computer on the task bar. It's just a matter of clicking on the task bar to get it to display. My initial problem was getting to recognise the file types produced by RS Designsp...
Hi Ferla This may be worth a try. Have a look at your user account settings to see what level of control has been activated by your security settings - it should look like this if you are only using trusted applications: User_Account_Settings.png If it is set the the one above, may explain why you a...
Hi Everyone Hope you don't mind me joining this thread, but I have had this problem for a while. I think I may have found a solution, that works for me, that may help. The RS Design Spark native file format for OBJ files, I have never got to work but by following these steps, it does. - Open RS Desi...
Thanks Benj for clarifying that for me. The idea that I have is, it is possible for students to work from home with a free FC8 licence, and given access to specifically developed components for use in projects that would otherwise not be possible. Of course, someone would have to develop those compo...
Hi Everyone Did you know, components that were designed/developed using FC7 and then transferred into FC8 'FREE' (this was before I upgraded), can be used without having the appropriate component pack installed. Yes - a user developed display component, when transferred into the free version of FC8 ...
Yep. I have had a laugh at myself. I’m not going to delete the tread because it serves to everyone, check and check again. I didn’t, as I was in a hurry before my free lecience ran out, to do some bench mark testing between FC7 vs FC8, before upgrading. Well, I’ve upgraded to FC8. There’s much...
Hi Everyone I have been looking at upgrading to FC8. Just wanted to compare what's new. However, the first difference I have noticed is that Microchip has a new compiler V1.45. Q. Why am I not allowed to use this newer version with FC7? This is the message that I get:- ERROR: Can not launch process:...

Hi Ficher I would suggest you change the 'Clear' LCD with the following to get a smother display: FC5_SCR1.jpg Not sure if the flikering display is your problem but this would help. Also, your math is a constant ( *100 / 5) = 20 just multuply your voltage by 20 and it should give your the same resul...
Yes, got it. Phew. I wasn't sure, but your brilliant example has explained a lot. I think I can now proceed with the component simulation development. Although, I imagine it will take me a while, as this looks challenging.
Hi Everyone I have started developing a I2C Quad 7 segment display module. The hardware is working fine, able to send data and display numbers on the module. The 7 Segment display module is continuing from the I2C keyboard idea. The display will be an intelligent display able to take: - Byte - ULONG...
Hi Rod This may not be the news you are looking for, PicKit 3 may not be supported for the easyPC V7 board. The reason for this are as follows; 1. The list of supported device for the PicKit 3 are shown here: PICkit 3 Programmer Application ReadMe.txt The PIC18F87K22 is not on the list. 2. The power...
Hi Rod I think you may have a PicKit3 that requires to be setup with an ID. To do this: 1. Connect your PicKit3 and select - Check Communication PicKit3Menu1.png 2. Then select - Set Unit ID PicKit3Menu2.png 3. This will give you the following option PicKit3Menu3.png You can now place an appropriate...
Thank you for your quick reply. I had tried to compile using the I2C module. No problem. I'm just trying different chips to see options/performance with various PIC hardware for the I2C bus.
Hi Everyone Can anyone confirm, if the I2C hardware is supported for the PIC16F88 using Flowcode com.'s master. This device has the necessary hardware but the compiler warnings are as follows: Target folder: E: Source name: E:\PIC16F88 I2C.fcfx Title: Description: Device: PIC.16F.16F88 Generated by:...

Hi Everyone This project will enable you to build an intelligent I2C keyboard controller for a 4x4 keypad (16 key). It can be extended to 42 keys and is fully customisable to suit your needs/application. It has a poll time of under 1ms and at transfer rate of 100khz on the I2C bus. Full construction...

Very much appreciate your help. However, putting the full extension details in has not solved the problem.
No matter, it will not prevent me from continuing to developing this component until such time the issue can be resolved.
