Re: DS3231 - RTC Time Keeper

Thanks Jordy. I can report that the problems I had with the RTC being reprogrammed seems to have been caused by me putting a delay in the INT routine for the alarm and also putting the clear alarm macro in the same INT routine. I do not know how this could cause the RTC time registers to get corrupt...

Re: PIC18F4550 DIP-40 TQFP-44 interchangeable?

Ok I see, that's good :)

I'm not in the UK but in Sweden. I don't need an FCD file right now so don't worry :) Will this FCD fill make it so that the "view chip" window will display the correct chip and the pin select function as well?

Thanks!

Re: PIC18F4550 DIP-40 TQFP-44 interchangeable?

Thanks, but do you think you could explain it a bit more to me? The thing that I don't fully understand regarding the dedicated ICSP port is that the datasheet states that the dedicated ICSP port is enabled by setting the ICPRT Configuration bit. Does that mean that I would need to program the PIC u...

PIC18F4550 DIP-40 TQFP-44 interchangeable?

I use the PIC18F4550 quite a lot for prototyping using the DIP-40 but now I want to use the TQFP-44 version of it as it is nice and small.

Are they completely interchangeable? Flowcode shows it as DIP-40 so I thought it would be best to ask before ordering PCB:s

Re: UTFT component? perfect for many graphic displays

Sorry I don't have that ILI9341 display Regarding the nRF datasheet I would have to agree, I just couldn't wrap my head around it. But maybe one could do this Ben: uC -> nRF -> nRF -> uC -> WIZnet module -> Router -> Internet? A form of gateway. For those of us that haven't played around with Raspbe...

Re: UTFT component? perfect for many graphic displays

Ok, I had no idea that they could be used for 802.11x networks, that would be so cool! I would be happy with just being able to communicate between identical modules. Finally a cheap way to implement internet of things :)

Re: UTFT component? perfect for many graphic displays

Are we talking about the same modules? :) The current WIFI/WLAN component is for the WIZ610wi module from WIZnet right? I have bought two of those, quite expensive and may be end of life soon. But the component I hope you'll create is not TCP/IP based I think: https://www.nordicsemi.com/eng/Products...

Re: UTFT component? perfect for many graphic displays

Well the Wifi component is still needed (I just bought two expensive Wiznet modules) so any improvements are welcome :) The NRF24L01+ is not really wifi even if it uses the 2.4Ghz band. IT is quite powerful and VERY cheap. I think it maxes out at 2Mbit or something. Plenty for most 8-bit and 16-bit ...

Re: UTFT component? perfect for many graphic displays

I totally understand and to be frank, I would prefer to see a component made for the NRF24L01+ to get nice and cheap wireless communication going :) If you think this display is worth persuing I can send you mine. I have one of each. But the 31 IO pins is kind of discouraging. Maybe there's other di...

Re: UTFT component? perfect for many graphic displays

In the Ebay listing for the 5.0" display it says: "The LCD module support Henning Karlsen's UTFT library, which can be downloaded here: http://electronics.henningkarlsen.com/ To run the demo, just choose Demo_800x480 and adjust LCD module name to CTE50CPLD" And I did have a go at gett...

The UTFT library, which I included in the zip-file has the code examples for these two displays :)

They seem very nice and fast.

Re: DS3231 - RTC Time Keeper

I got the new IC's from Maxim Integrated on Monday and so far it is working just fine, not like the other IC's.

So I'll leave it running for a couple of days more but I think it's proof enough that the ebay IC's I got was faulty.

I have now made some more tests with a second chip from this batch and it is also acting up, so if you see this Jordy, please check your's if you can but if not, just replace the chip with a DS3231SN directly Maxim Integrated or Mouser/Digikey etc. "Good deals" from Ebay proving not to be ...

Re: OT: Boostc Debug Mode .."printf" and other...

Hi Rudi, Ben and I have both registered on the BoostC forum and raised the question about native float support (some others have chipped in as well) but it seems to me that BoostC staff just ignore it really. Ben also told me that they are in fact looking at switching to the microchip compiler but I...

Re: DS3231 - RTC Time Keeper

If anyone that has a DS3231 could connect it up and also connect a display, then run a simple program (first you need to write time and date if that hasn't been done yet) that in the main loop reads the time and return it as a string, then display it on the display. Keep this running for several day...

Re: DS3231 - RTC Time Keeper

If anyone want's to try it as is I have uploaded my revised version of the component. Things to note are that I think only Alarm 2 once per minute rate works. Alarm 1 will probably not work at all. But I do believe I have fixed the problem with the OSC shutting down when in Vbat state. I just really...

WLAN Wiz610wi, POST/GET?

So I just got two Wiz610wi WLAN modules and thought I would have a go at sending data to my online mySQL database.
