Re: Servo Program Settings
Hi Martin, tried the program but nothing worked. So, I decided to start from the very begining again and simply get the chip to flash a single LED in the hope to see if my programmer is programming OK. Well that did not work either. I have checked it over but am clearly missing something. Theres als...

Re: Servo Program Settings
Here are the configuration settings I have done so far. INTRC CLOCK OUT - To run the chip on its internal RC clock. MCLR PIN = As a MCLR pin as I do not need it as a digital input at this stage. When inserted into the actual circuit I have tied it to VDD by way of a 10K resistor as per datasheet. BO...

Re: Servo Program Settings
Hi Benj, thanks very much for answering my call for help. I wont be using a crystal at all and hope to run the chip at 4MHz using internal setting? The MCLR pin I will not be using. If I understand the datasheet correctly, the MCLR pin need to be pulled up to 5V with a resistor greater than 1K in va...

Servo Program Settings
Hi everyone, I've done my program and am happy as to how it simulates. Before I try and compile it etc, could somebody be kind enough to check out my chip configurations please. I'm using a 16F767 PIC. I'm not sure what to do for the following and why; Oscillator settings MCLR settings BOR Voltage s...

Re: CCP Modules and PICS
Hi folks, I've redrawn the PICKIT 2 ICSP schematic the way kersing advised....I think. If you guys could take a look and give your comments/advice it will be well appreciated. Have I connected the two Vss up correctly? When I do the PCB I will use a 28 Pin ZIF socket and keep all tracks as short as ...

Re: CCP Modules and PICS
OK, I've scouted around and think I should have a go at using the 16F767.
To program this pic I will need to make up a small PCB that will attach to the PICKIT 2 programmer.
I,ve done a circuit and would appreciate any corrections or advice. Please see attachment. Thanks everyone....John

CCP Modules and PICS
Hi Folks, I'm looking for a PIC that is suitable for servo control but can also be programmed by my PICKIT2 programmer. I'm told the pic needs to have 2 CCP modules in it but the only one I can find which is suitable is the 16F877A and 16F877. It seems a hell of a waste to use this controller to con...

Re: Servo Motor Program
Thanks for that Martin. To avoid further complications,I've decided to change the chip to a 16F877A. I believe thay are compatible with my PICKIT2 programmer and the Low Pin Count board I have. I meant to ask you two things; When doing the circuit, does the control wire of the servo have to connect ...

Re: Servo Motor Program Modified?
Thanks Martin, I've gone through your program and have tried to do a modified one myself but cannot get it to work. Hopefully you or somebody else can point out where I have gone wrong. I have chosen the 16F1825 PIC as it is compatable with my PICKIT2 programmer and has the CCP pins as you advised e...

Servo Motor Program
I'm hoping you guys can put me right with this program. All I am trying to achieve is to move the servo in one direction and back again with each button press. I just cant get it to work and am also wondering why the chip diagram is not showing me (in red on the pin concerned) when the pin is high. ...

Re: Timing Issue?
Hi Martin, thanks for your time. Could I clear one thing up as I think I may misunderstand it.
I've got osccon=70 so I can run the chip at 8Mhz. The 4 Mhz I set was for the delay periods? Am I confusing something here????
Thanks a lot.....John

Timing Issue?
Hi folks, I have attached the flowchart I have done for a darkness detector. Everything seems to be working fine except for when I want the LED (connectd to GP5)to come on for 1 second. For som reason it it comes on for about half a second which is too quick. I've set the internal clock to 8Mhz and ...

Read 2 Sensors at the same time
I've done a flowchart with the objective of reading two LDR's at the same time.(Represented by LIGHTLEVEL1 and LIGHTLEVEL2) I can get the light to flash on and off by manipulating LIGHTLEVEL1 but LIGHTLEVEL2 seems to have no effect. The idea is both sensors need to detect two lights switching off at...
