Re: glitch on PWM for servo signal

Hi benj , i have tried the `C` code you gave, good idea you had though, if i read you correctly you tried to eliminate the `masking` code out of the equation in the `output macro` but unfortunately it did not work. I removed all the servo endstop led light outputs except one on bit `0` to apply you...

backing up project files & alterations

After spending some time working to the early hours trying to sort my flowcode programing skills, gave me an idea that i think would be good to have in the upcoming flowcode v4 ....just in case you had got an idle moment and were wondering what else you could add to the v4 update. THE PROB...

Re: glitch on PWM for servo signal

Hi benj, i`ll try what you suggest tonight, but i have tried using a mask to focus on a pin as well as using the idividual bit setting both gave the same result.

Re: glitch on PWM for servo signal

Hi guys , well i was up late last night until the early hours and i believe that i have finally cornered the problem causing my PWM glitch. My program produces a PWM signal out putting to 2 servos, each servo having end stops programed and if an endstop is reached it switches on a Led light, the le...

Re: glitch on PWM for servo signal

Hi all, sean i have looked at my maths and to be honest they do not seem to me all that different from yours, i try to use single bytes rather than integers if for no other reason than to keep the coding small. I have noticed that the glitch is effected by the movement of the potentiometer inputing...

Re: glitch on PWM for servo signal

Thanks for that sean, yes you have given me a lot to think about. I`m glad that the problem has a chance of being resoved. I`ll give my maths figures a going over.
P.S. does it still make sense that there is no glitch with half the flowcode code though?

glitch on PWM for servo signal

Hi guys, Can you help me with a glitch that i have in my servo signal :?: I`ll try and keep this as short as possible. I have put together 2 prototype circuit's with different power supplies capacitors etc. but with the same results. I have run it through proteus (as per attachment) and it is predi...

Hi econnections , well i`m onto drinking strong coffee now after last night! ......seems you had a large helping of xmas pudding. Just reminded me of when i went shopping with the wife before xmas we were doing the rounds at the supper market, i was filling my basket with the essentials, nu...

Re: RBO/INT Interrupt

Hi econnections, i have got the development board v3 and have got on it a 16F88, i have tried the tutorial23 (see below attach) and this one works. Hope this helps . I need to do a bit more boozing now  so i`ll look back here tommorrow. ...i would just check those chip setup settings, they...

Re: RBO/INT Interrupt

Hi again, you caught my post while i was still doing an edit, i was changing `flowcode v4 ` i should of put `flowcode v3`.....i have been thinking about the up-coming version 4 and mistakingly wrote that down. Anyway, you can download the demo v3 here http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/Flowcode3a-X.php...

Re: RBO/INT Interrupt

Hi econnections merry xmas, i see your still on line so thought i might catch you, i note that you are using an old version of flowcode you might be interested to know that you can download version 3 demo perhaps this my help get you going until the matrix team are back on line.
best of luck.

Re: problem with LCD + oscillator setup

Hi all, i think i have inadvertently damaged my original 18F2620.fcd file while altering it to have a ` vref` voltage setting, and while looking at my version and the original version the two appear to be totally different! they are both correct for the chip and i wonder if i have got a new version...

Re: problem with LCD + oscillator setup

Hi sean, thanks for explaining what was going on and clearing things up for me, i can now use this info with confidence and i`ll have a go at redoing my algorithm + maths to alter the pwm signal.
Thanks.

Re: problem with LCD + oscillator setup

Hi sean , i am using a test program to get the timing, it has no pwm signal code, it uses the osccon + osctune. The test program is the same as the one at the top of this thread which also has attached the results that i found with the setup as of that time using config H1 = C8. here is attached th...

Re: problem with LCD + oscillator setup

Hi sean , i`m afraid to say that changing the ` t1con ` is not going to help me as i had already altered this some months ago as per my program....http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/mmforums/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4937.... changing the ` t1con` was part of my alteration to the maths i did. I have had so...

Hi all, Steve i think you jumped the gun a bit there......i had the flashing led working. Re: problem with LCD + oscillator setup

Hi steve/sean , thank you for taking another look at this problem of mine. looking at the `osccon=0x70` and `osctune=0x40` made me think to have another look at my value i had for the osccon + osctune, sure enough i had got the osccon down as 0x72 but i had input it in binary as in `osccon = 0b 011...

Re: problem with LCD + oscillator setup

Hi again: Taking a step back and looking at the results i got (see attached `results`) and looking at the fastest speed i got which was 200 cycles in 1second, if i was to asume that this was the 32mhz ...it cannot go faster on the internal oscillator..the setup to get this speed was, 1mhz in the `c...

Re: problem with LCD + oscillator setup

O.K. steve. i have set the `chip setting` setting to 32mhz as this is to be my final speed of the chip. i then sellected the `INT RC-Port on RA6` in the expert setting...i believe this is setting up the internal oscillator!. I then ran the program as is attached to my first post here and the progra...

Re: problem with LCD + oscillator setup

Hi steve , i am trying to run 32mhz (Not 32Khz) the 18F2620 uses a PLL multiplier to bump the speed up from the internal oscillator. Am i right in thinking that the choice of the ` clock speed ` setting has got to represent the crystal on the actual board ? and likewise in my case it has to be the ...

problem with LCD + oscillator setup

Hi all , i have a problem with using the lcd on the ver3 development board . I am trying to run a 18F2620 at 32mhz int. oscillator, and getting different results on what is seen on the lcd dependant on the speed of the chip. It appears that the choice of speed selected in the ` expert setup ` is no...
