Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
Yes Medelec35 i thought using the Steinhart and Hart equation was the best way to go with more accuracy but am having second thoughts, your Beta version is right on the money just like " an angry female lion with cubs to feed"

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
I moved the RTD research to a new topic ( RTD temperature Reading) which in my thinking was that it will be easy for people out there searching for RTD knowledge in flowcode rather than it being hiden in a different topic which is the NTC thermistor.

RTD temperature Reading
I've found a nice video about the RTD ,it's in two parts please take a look. He used (0°C -150°C)but i think this will be the same with my (0°C - 600°C) with a few changes in numbers and a flowchat can be created with LCD to read temperature from 0°C to around 600°C but the RTD here must be a 3 - wi...

Got another 10k Thermister and works really nice "right on the money" with your Beta version Medelec35.

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
Ok i will do some research on the RTD first and see the best way to go then the rest of the members will come in and help.

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
Oh you don't know how much i like you Medelec35 you are really a problem solver now that is out of the way the remaining part is my mother's cake cooker since u told me RTD is the way to go,we have to look at that too,coz I've already finished the code for ther timer and it works greate i now only n...

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
Ok 4 volts at the adc didn't make sensor to me even when i removed the NTC so i looked closely to the PCB since this PCB was not not for a temp project i just made loops on it some how one root got into contact with the 12v supply messing up all readings fixed that and everything seems ok now thanks...

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
On my board room temp it shows 16k and resistance value is changing ( reduces when i press my fingers) but not the temperature (stuck on -25°C)

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
Ok, i dont know how the thermistor component works but i really need to know how it works coz imagine i don't have the beta coefficient value and the only option is to use the thermistor component, i have tried it and am not getting good results.Temp value not changing with changing temp stuck on -2...

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
Ok I will look into it and if things put up a angry face on me i run back to you for help. But do you have a link for a good RTD in that temp range nice mounting for oven with a nice DataSheet that i can order?

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
Thanks for that info, now interfacing the RTD do you have a flowchat for RTD or is it smilar to that of the thermistor?

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
Thanks allot for the code Medelec35 God Bless u am planning to build a digital timer with a temperature sensor for my mother for her local cake cooker and mount it on the wall in an adaptable box and run sensor wires down to the cooker oven, what do you think is the best temp sensor i should use Mede...

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
I know my thermistor Datasheet may not be that correct at the moment as i got this from an old DC to AC inverter coz when i measure it at room temp, I get around 12k but that isn't a big deal as i just wanted a code that works so that when i order a well known thermistor with the correct Datasheet a...

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
Thanks Medelec35 issue was themistor between ADC i/p and + supply? Since i had already done the PCB before your flowchat so i changed to pull-up to +ve 5v and thermistor to GND and it obeyed like a humble dog now i have a task and that is to get to understand the code.

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
No it's an NTC coz before i hook it up on the board i first heat it up with a soldering gun and it does what NTC does best as temp goes up resistance goes down see pics below.

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
Ok now this is where it becomes interesting "learning time" i changed the code to work with my hardware running @ 8mhz external crystal with the PIC16F886 but to my supplies when i heat up the thermistor with a soldering gun interested of the temperature going up,it goes down to negatives but the re...

Re: NTC thermistor Temp sensor
It will be so nice if Medelec35 can do for both the Beta version and also the Steinhart and Hart equation version in a flowchat example. But all in all what he has to offer i believe will be profitable.
