Signed USB Drivers

Post by Benj »

Hello All,

I have re-done all of our hardware USB drivers with signed versions that should now be happy to work alongside Windows 8 and hopefully 10 also without having to boot Windows into a none standard mode of operation.

Windows 7 should also work but Vista/XP may have issues.

If anyone has a go with any of these then please let me know how you get on. We have done some testing in house and I think everything should be ok but wanted to try them before we switch the drivers from our main products pages. Also note that the .inf file right click install method should also now work for everything.

If anyone wants to know how to do this, e.g. for a Flowcode USB component then I can help show you how, certificates cost around £150 a year and you only need it to be valid for when you do the actual signing.

Hi Ben

I've just done a clean install of windows 10 x64-pro.

Flowcode 6 pro and all 4 versions of Flowcode 5 installed and activate ok. (Flowcode 6.1.2.0)

Hardware. Most of the new signed drivers installed ok. (Not tried the USB serial & slave yet)

Just 2 problems

16Bit ECIO
When trying to program gives the following error

Excepted device attached
CMDline switches = -eciodsp16
Dev attached = ECIO -40 40pin module
This is both on usb power and from the PSU in the base board

AVR ISP mk2 Programmer
Driver wont install
Gives an error Atmel LIBUSB(0)

Any ideas
Thanks

Here are my results of these drivers on Windows 10 x64:

eb006 - OK Works, tested ICD
eb006v9 - OK Works, tested full GHOST
FlowKit - OK Works, tested ICD functions on atmel board.
MIAC - OK Programming works, reading works on MIACprog.

EDIT:

Is there going to be digitally signed avrISPmkII driver? Having trouble installing the unsigned driver, even tough using unsigned drivers enabled mode on Win10... :S
Ill just keep the good work up!

Hello,

We posted some help here for the AVRISP driver. http://www.matrixtsl.com/faq/index.php? ... artlang=en

As it's not our product I'm not sure if we can simply generate a driver for this.

Let me know how you get on though, maybe there is something we can do to help or simplify the process.

Hi!

Why these driver files are not included in the V7 installation by default ? (or i could not get the V7 included ones to install for Flowkit, the installer told it failed...)
Ill just keep the good work up!

I've been through this recently and the drivers supplied with Flowcode 7.2.1 should now be the signed version.

I've also posted my cheat sheet for creating signed drivers here should anyone need it.
