EB006 USB driver installation

Post by KevinH »

Received my new EB006, but I always get an error installing the driver that it can't find ...ghost..

Followed instructions here:
http://www.matrixtsl.com/faq/index.php? ... programmer

Extracted USB driver from product web page

Updated driver from control panel pointed to the extracted 386 files.
Then the error message

I'm using Win7 64 bit. Is there a clear list of steps or am I missing a step?

Thanks

Hi Kevin,
What version of EB006 have you got?
Did you run dpinst_amd64.exe ?
I usually run in admin mode.

In the zip file there ware not any EXE files.

It is V9. I'm on Intel with Win7 64 bit, so initially tried i386 as it is intel.

The current situation is I can't try changing it as it states no driver is required an all the update buttons are greyed out.

EDIT:
Windows driver update was running for the above error message.
I can now add drivers....
Do you recommend trying the AMD drivers or is the zip file missing the exe files?

I now have the drivers installed. :D

The key point was to use the AMD driver.
Steps were extract all the zip file and then delete the i386 folder.
(could have done it with individual files and folders, but this worked!)

Edit: and select the higher level folder for the driver, not the AMD folder.
Further thought... could this now be an automatic selection? I.e. could have left the i386 folder present?

Now for some fun!
Thanks for considering the problem.
Think some documentation on the steps would have helped me (assuming I hadn't missed it!) and clarity of which OS requires which set of drivers.

Hi Kevin,
I had forgotten that dpinst_amd64.exe was for much older versions.
For future reference (anyone else in the same situation).
If you unzip the drivers then within Device Manager, on the multiprogrammer icon just right click 'update drivers'.
Then using 'Browse my computer for driver software'
Browse to main folder that was extracted.
For example:
EB006v9 install 1.png
(31.18 KiB) Downloaded 7096 times
Then should install correct drivers for your system:
EB006v9 install 2.png
(99.21 KiB) Downloaded 7096 times
Glad you have got your drivers to install correctly
