Simulate Fading LED Component

I once found someone's post with an attached program with the fading LED. When simulating his program, the LEDs Component actually fades. His LEDs Component even has 3 colors in one component RED-GREEN-BLUE. Sorry, I can't find the thread right now.
How is this done? How do we give individual LEDs their own color within one component? and How do we let the LED Component fade when simulating?
