Flowcode for Developing Android Apps

Post by Chet »

Coming soon I hope. Google's App Inventor seems to be lacking the intutive format that Flowcode provides. App Inventor is also very limited in phone I/O control. I think Flowcode for Android Apps would be a winner. I believe App Inventor has been sidelined by Google, so this is a good time to step in to fill the void for a quality "code-less" Android development platform. Maybe just a front end for Eclipse is all it takes. Cheers.

Re: FLOWCODE FOR DEVELOPING ANDROID APPS

Hello,

This is something I am currently looking into for a personal project though not on a microcontroller platform. Microchip have also announced they will be creating boards and code for android so maybe somewhere down the line we could integrate some of this into Flowcode.

I was thinking that an Android remote control app could be used to control via a bluetooth E-Block.
Also I just chanced across this Sparkfun IOIO but the programming looks like hard work.

Glad to hear there's a possible future for Android programming VIA Flowcode. I think the market could be huge. You should look at App Inventor and see how Flowcode could be so much better.

The chip on the sparkfun ioio is in the flowcode for dspic list:PIC24FJ256DA206
It should be possible to programm it with flowcode for dspic and a pickit3.

Do you think it is possible to import the ioio code in a C code block in Flowcode.
This would be an easy way to give more functionnality to the ioio with very simple programs.

We could imagine a ioio component in flowcode in the future.

Another way to use android is the wifi EB069 E-Block and the android wifi.
A very simple example is here:

More complex projects here:
