dsPIC MIAC RS485 Communication

Post by QMESAR »

Hi Team,

Can you please advise me on using the dsPIC MIAC RS485 should I add the 120 Ohm terminator resistor or is this already included in the Hardware.

I did not find any reference in the manual regrading the terminators

Appreciate your input

No, there is no internal termination resistor.
Or pullup/pulldown

Hi Leigh

Can you also tell me please if there is TVS diodes on the front end of the Transceiver node to protect the transceiver ,as this MIAC will run in an noisy environment.

Thanks a million :D

The transceiver is a SN65HVD10DR which has built in ESD Protection,
but external extra TVS sounds like a good idea in your application :D
