Hello

please i need some help, I'm reading a sensor and want to send the data using RS232 communication, data are being renewed every 100 mS, sending data to the PC via RS232, is correct, the problem is that sends the first reading and keeps repeating, it does not detect new data, could someone help me :?:

Thanks
Enrique

Hello,

identify the problem, the data is sent correctly, but when connecting and disconnecting 3 or 4 times the port 232 of the PC, the MAX232 chip is heated and stops working, not that this should be

Hello Steve,

I appreciate the observation and the data you send me, did not understand because it worked properly while the circuit on, but turn off and turn on several times, MAX232 is overheated and stopped working, I'll do some testing with data that you send me, I think that is the root failure.

Thank you very much
Enrique

Hello Enrique,

We have a known working circuit here on page 6 that might help you.

http://www.matrixtsl.com/resources/getr ... .php?id=90

We use the MAX3232 now rather than the MAX232 but they should be fairly similar ICs.

Hi Benj,

I have a doubt in the data sheet of MAX232 pin 2 (Rx) a capacitor that negative going GND (pin 15) is connected, but EB015 the negative of the same capacitor will Vcc (pin 16); It could be what causes warming in the MAX232 ? :?:

Thanks
Enrique
