Configuration settings not saved on a few target devices

Post by medelec35 »

After a V5 user reported issue with Flowchart not saving configuration settings:
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/mmforum ... 094#p31711
After modifying 18F452 with new fixed configuration settings I also checked rest of 18FXX2 series, and same bug.
Other target devices also don't save configuration settings, but I checked 18F4455 and that does. :?

Not sure if bug, or not but ICD does not seem to work with port interrupt enabled.
I was using 16F887A @ 4MHz with a 4MHz xtal single. ICD stopped at the interrupt.
Anyone else have that issue is it just me :?:

Thanks Martin. I think this is an issue with PPP - when you tried this, did you go through PPP to check that the settings were OK before sending to the chip?
I disabled PPP and added the config settings manually, and they were added to the C file fine. Whether they write to the board OK is another issue, as PPP will usually be doing the writing (though not in that users case, I think?).

I will raise a bug under PPP tomorrow morning detailing this issue.

Cheers,

Jonny

Hi Jonny,
yes settings are being sent, but they are default settings before configurations is altered in expert mode. if you do alter setting in expert mode e.g WDT from enabled to disabled, then as soon as you click OK WDT reverts back to enabled.
Edit, if you don't change anything, but just click OK on expert configuration, all settings revert back to original WDT and LVP enabled etc.

For the 18F452 See:
