I don't seem to fully understand the function of the RS232 macro "timeout".
I am using the RS232 macro receive character function successfully with a timeout value of 0. Although it may take many miliseconds before I read an ASCII character that was received "on the fly" so to speak, it always seems to be there in the input buffer when I need it. Clearly, the timeout function isn't dumping or clearing the input buffer. What is it doing/what does it do?
