V6 does not compile correctly on my Laptop
I am using V6 Professional on my home computer and everything works correctly there.
However, when I try to compile on my laptop, it compiles with no errors but when I program the chip 30F3012 the chip won't run.
So to prove weather it is Flowcode or the programmer I brought the hex file to the laptop from the home computer using the same programmer
and the chip runs great when programmed from the laptop. The only thing I can think of is that the laptop is not compiling the program correctly.
I guess I should mention that I copied the flowcode program from the home computer to the laptop and I checked the build data, clock speed, etc.
I am hoping that someone has a suggestion as I need to be able to program in the field. In the past, I did use this laptop in the field but I was
using V5 and now I am using V6.

Hi Shortcircuit,
when you say you copied the Flowcode program off your home PC, should you not of installed it because Windows Ini files will not be installed.
Thanks

Hi Stuart
Thanks for the reply. I did install Flowcode V6 as normal and registered. I was referring to copying the *.fcfx file.

Re: V6 does not compile correctly on my Laptop
Hi,
It may be a license issue, If I remember right you can install Flowcode on more than 1 computer but you can only have 1 running at a time, the Matrix guys will know.
cheers

Re: V6 does not compile correctly on my Laptop
Hi Larry,
Can you post hex files produced by main PC and Laptop (rename so we know which is which)
I can then compare both to see what's different.
It would also help if you can post the flowchart.

Re: V6 does not compile correctly on my Laptop
Hi Larry,
Can you also post .c files from both please.
I can't guarantee I can help as not as familiar with DsPIC as I am with pic.
When compiled on my home computer, hex file matches hex file from your home PC

Re: V6 does not compile correctly on my Laptop
Hi Larry,
Can you check if you updated any files on your home PC because you required a bug fix? A quick compare of file dates should work. I'm thinking of FCD, cal and component files.
Best regards,
Jac

Re: V6 does not compile correctly on my Laptop
Hi Jac
I did have one of the CAL file updated
PIC16BIT_CAL_ADC.c
I have not yet checked the other sections but I just noticed that Flowcode was installed in Program files Dir (x86)on the Laptop
not (x86) on the Home computer. Could that be causing the trouble?
Just checked system information and the Home computer is listed as a x86 system.
Too many components to check, should I just copy the entire component File from Home to Laptop?
Thank you
Larry

Re: V6 does not compile correctly on my Laptop
Flowcode should be automatically installed in x86 if 64 bit windows.
Since C files match I'm struggling to see what the issue is
One thing to try is to copy the whole Flowcode 6 directory from home PC, paste on a flash drive.
Then plug flash drive into laptop and copy Flowcode 6 and past anywhere like on the main root, within documents folder etc.
Then run Flowcode.exe for within new Flowcode 6 directory.
I would not suggest overwriting original Flowcode 6 directory just yet as it may prevent us from finding out whats going on.

Re: V6 does not compile correctly on my Laptop
Hi Martin
Its now working. I copied the "PIC16BIT_CAL_ADC" and replaced the older one on the Laptop.
That seems to have done the trick. I don't know why!! I had trouble with this before and Benj
posted the new PIC16BIT_CAL_ADC in my thread. So the chip was probably running but not getting
updated with new analog data so it appeared not to be running.

Thank you for the help as always and also Jac
