Howto: import user component permanently

Post by MJU »

Hey,

I've downloaded the DS1307 custom component that was made by Jordy101091.
I put it in the "components" directory in the install directory of Flowcode 6 and tried to open FC.

The component isn't anywhere in the list of components.

How can I add this custom component permanently to my list of components?

Hello.

Has the component ever been in the list? Remember, the FCFX file is source code - not a compiled component. The FCPX file is the finished, compiled component - ensure this is the component added.

Does it appear in the search bar? This should be a list of all components, regardless of category. You can flag components to not appear in the main lists (to avoid cluttering).

You could try adding it to a different folder. You can do this via Menu->Global Options in the Locations tab. Also (for good measure) clear the component cache - this will cause any preconceptions Flowcode has about what components are available to be deleted.

Let me know how you get on.

Hello Jonny,

I think I found it.

I was looking for the component via the search "DS" but I wasn't aware that the search wouldn't work on a partial search query.
I have to type the whole component name when I search for it.

My mistake..

Hi. Yeah, for now.

In the next release partial terms are accepted - it is much more useful.
