Strange Bug

Post by JohnCrow »

Hi Ben

Not sure if I should call this a bug or not, but its a strange occurrence.

I've just tried programming a 16F1937 in one of my EB006 v9 boards. A program I know works fine.
Flowcode shows the message Launching the compiler, the row of dots start across the screen and just keep going.

I found the cause was a micro USB card adaptor plugged into my internal card reader (No memory card fitted). remove the adaptor and it runs as normal.

BUT
if I put a memory card in the reader, it does not stop flowcode compiling.

I tend to leave a adaptor in the slot all the time (not pushed in though) so I'm not hunting for one when I need it, but last night I was programming my Visi Display and the adaptor was left plugged in.

Strange??

Hi John,

That's a very weird one. Is it just XC8 that seems to pause during compilation?

Is it on a Win 10 machine? there could be some strange bugs like this lurking still with Win10 and the way it upgrade installs but a bit worrying.

I did some Googling but didn't come across anything that seemed to fit the bill.

Hi Ben

I am running Win 10 X64 Pro with all (as far I'm aware) updates.

Its so obscure I don't think its worth spending a lot of effort on, there are more important bugs. Might be worth a test if anyone else wants to see if they can replicate it.

I'll try FC6 when I get a few minutes see if it does it.
