SSOP package programing

Post by jbs4wd »

Does anyone know of a SSOP20 or SOIC20 holder, so as to be able to programm it then solder it onto the board?

Cheers

Hi John,

The best way with these devices is to solder the device to the board and then use a Microchip ICSP style connector on the board to interface to a PICkit or EB006 for programming. If you do not already have a ICSP connector on the board then you can probably run wires to each of the pins to allow for programming. Remember to keep the cables short (around 10cm) if you need to do this or the programming will start to fail.
