Getting PIC32MZ connected

Hi Guys,
I'm looking to get the Microchip starter kit board PIC32MZ.
http://www.microchipdirect.com/ProductS ... s=DM320007.
I can not find how and if the FC7 supports USB programming (programmer)?
I use to use PIC18 and PICkit 3 to program the target and this works relatively smoothly.

Can anyone confirm that this would work (using USB) so I can Compile to the board from FC?

The chip of interest is PIC32MZ0512EFE064.

Thanks,

Igor

Hi
Please post your issues in the relevant forums PIC32 has a dedicated forum for PIC32 so does all other families.

If you read the board manual you will notice the the board has a connector footprint J2 which is for PICkit3 ,PICKIT3 is supported within FC
the board on board programmer is not supported directly with in FC

http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/D ... 05230B.pdf

The answer to your question is yes this board can be used with FC by using the PICKIT3 programmer
:D

Hi Qmesar,

thanks for prompt reply.

Now when I had a look in tot he schematic it is the PICkit interface. In the manual is mentioning as debbuger interface, so it was confusing.
The board communicates with USB to MPLAB.

Thank you very much for clarifying it. I ordered the board and multimedia extension board. It will be fun :) .

Regards,

Igor

Hi
Just take note of this jumper setting when using your PICKIT3

Hi Igor,

I think the J7 connector is the right one, if you use PICKIT3.
