ICSP

Post by Jan Lichtenbelt »

ISCP is working fine with a 10 cm connection between the programming BL0080 board and the microchip 16F1847.
If I exchange the microchip with the 16F18857, ISCP is not working correctly. Programming shows the procedure works correctly, but in practice the program does not work. In both cases the low powering has been disabled.
What can be the reason?

Kind regards

Jan

Hi Jan,

Don't believe this is a V8 issue

I experienced this with V6 as soon as you try to go past the supplied lead length with ICSP Programming you get all sorts of weird results and miss programming.
Have even tried twisted pairs and screen cables. Ended up sticking with the supplied lead.

There is a post bellow on microchip forums about this.

Hi Jan,
If Programming has been reported as successful i.e with no unable to erase messages,
then could the issue be configuration settings or a faulty chip?

Hi Martin,

I used more microchips 16F18857. That can not be the reason. The config word is shown below. I use the same config word for programming the microchip on the programming board BL0080 and by means of ICSP. It is still a puzzle for me.

Hi Jan,
None of you posts show what value OSCFRQ you're using within a c code block?
What value are you using?
