Half LCD display!
Hi!
After last update I my LCD 4x20 is only approx. half size on the dashboard? Even If I open an old project or a new one. This display is the I2c backpack.

Re: Half LCD display!
Hello,
Thanks for letting us know.
Hmm that's odd. I wonder if it's related to your OpenGL hardware? I'm certainly not getting that here.
The recent change basically increased the resolution of the display and that was the only change, the dimensions shouldn't have changed.
Is the problem with existing projects, or newly added components, or both?
If you switch to OpenGL software mode does this make any difference. "View -> Global Options -> Application -> Graphics Engine"

Re: Half LCD display!
Hi Ben!
Sorry, no matter what I do in "View -> Global Options -> Application -> Graphics Engine" it´s the same.
Yes, no change, still half display, even with new or an existing project.
I only have the problem on this PC. I have 2 other PC with FC8, no problem. I had the same issue earlyer after an update, I can´t remember who help me, Steve or David, one these guy´s, gave me a tip and this solve the problem. I have tryed to search here in forum, but can´t find it.

Re: Half LCD display!
Hi Jorgen,
The fix might have been to delete this folder on the problem PC.
C:\ProgramData\MatrixTSL\FlowcodeV8
Then when Flowcode runs it will revert all the components, definitions and CAL back to stock. You will then have to run the updates check again.
Let us know how you get on.

Re: Half LCD display!
Hi Ben!
Yes it solve the problem, until I go in help and update and restart. Then I am back to half size again.
New: I get the new file for 8.2.1.14 and replace the .exe file in FC8 folder, Delete old icon on screen create a new path, started up FC8 and display is fine, then I go to help and update, after that half size again???

Re: Half LCD display!
Hi Jorgen,
I have been able to replicate the problem in the OpenGL software mode. I don't get the problem in the OpenGL hardware mode presumably because my version of OpenGL hardware is newer or more featured then yours.
Hmm not too sure what to do about this then. Maybe I can make the resolution of the display a property so you can drop the resolution if your OpenGL version doesn't support it.

Re: Half LCD display!
Should work ok again now after the latest component update.
I've basically lowered the resolution until it works ok in the software mode.

Re: Half LCD display!
Hi Jorgen,
The OpenGL software mode can only cope with textures of a certain size and hence half of the display is missing. We are investigating this.
I would use the Hardware mode if and when available as it should allow Flowcode to run faster and reduce some of the workload from your CPU. This used to be the default option but this seems to have changed recently. I'll see if we can change it back or upgrade the software version to a more modern version of OpenGL.
