I have used in one of my projects the above display and digital pot so that the user can adjust the screen contrast via push buttons.
The X9C103PZ is digitally controlled potentiometer. This device consists of a 99 resistor
Array, wiper switching network, a control section, and non-volatile memory. The wiper position is controlled by the CS, U/D, and INC inputs. The position of the wiper is stored in nonvolatile memory and then is recalled upon a power-up operation.
I have used 2 EB016-002 1 is for the LCD Display due to it’s size and the other is for the digital pot and pull up resistors
I hope this is of some use and happy experimenting

Hi Steve,
Angle of taking picture might be an issue...still we can see your good works!

Re: Controlling a LCD Display with a digital pot
Hi Steve
When I photograph my projects, I find I get the best results as follows
My bench is under a west (almost) facing window
Photograph in the morning with a bright sky.
This way I find I dont need flash, which can cause reflections.
I also tend to turn up the ISO rating on the camera to get a better shutter speed.

Digital Pots are on the list of things I want to play with too. Look like an interesting device.
