Goodbye all!

Post by JonnyW »

Hi.

Just a quick note to say I will be leaving Matrix soon, last day is the 9th April.

I want to thank everyone on our forums for the amazing support I have seen you all give Matrix and our team over my three short years here, especially from our wonderful VCs, without whom I don't know how this forum would cope!

Best wishes for the future, and I hope you all continue to benefit from Flowcode, EBlocks and all the other Matrix products over the years to come!

Jonny

If I may ask,

Why would you leave Matrix Multimedia.
Just out of curiosity.

Hi Jordy.

A complicated question! The official party line is its time for a change, new challenges and all that spiel. I am off to a company called Rapita which does code coverage measurement and metrics for automotive and aviation which seems like a really interesting place to work so the new work is a big reason.

Why would you leave Matrix Multimedia
For a start we're not called Matrix Multimedia any more so that ship has sailed

Now called Matrix Technology Solutions Limited apparently!

What,

Why such a long name, why not leave it a Matrix Multimedia.
I not going to say the new name is stupid (oops I did ).

Matrix Multimedia was there ad the beginning and it works, so why would it work for 5 more years or so.
Im not seeing the reason to change the name of a good quality product.

Don't let David L Jones hear about it, he will rant about it like you have never seen

Hi Jonny,
It's a shame you're leaving and after such a short stay as well.
Just a pity you not used more smilies (only once in a PM does not count) :P
I would like to thank you for taking on board what we have suggested in the past with Flowcode5 and V6.
I wish you all success in your new role and you will most definitely be missed on here by all!.
Especially your sense of humour  :)
Also it was nice to have met you and put a face to all your posts.

Btw where is the unhappy icon for a post, can only see the thanks Icon :P

All the best

Hi. Yeah, its a shame but I think things are at the point where it makes sense to go.
Why such a long name, why not leave it a Matrix Multimedia.
I not going to say the new name is stupid (oops I did ).
I am a fan of Dilberts (keeps me going) and the name change does remind me of a snippet in Wikipedia on company mantras. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dilbert#Management

And Martin, just for you:  (I like that little fella - he seems happy)

Hi Jonny.

Three years might be considered to be a life time in some industries.

You know when it is time to move on...

Best wishes

All the best Jonny, and thanks for the help over the years, you will be missed on here and in the office too I'm sure.

Good luck in the new job.

Oh, on the Dilbert front, I used to work for a manager who was the spitting image of the PHB.
(Only Dilbert fans will know what that means  )

I have always found your posts to be honest, accurate and above all, you seem to actually care about the users problems. Those qualities are hard to find these days. You will be missed. Best of luck in your new adventure.

Jonny leaving MM? Thats a pity!
Worst day in my life!

Jonny was always the guy that answered the questions on the forum before we could ask them.
Behind the scenes I worked well with him (translation, beta-testing)..

I really hope you do well in your new job, and if this isn't what you expect from it, and you want to return back to MM, we at the forum will support you and make sure you get a big raise! :-)

Thanks for all the things that you did for us!

Dear Jonny there is no how to thank you, cause i'm not one buyer of flowcode till now. And even so you gave support to my requests or opinions on the new V6, you made it looks more like V5 when i and others blame out the new interface.

I'm still fighting with knifes on my teeths, with my MD to get the license, my trial time has ended and it's bad cause my learning curve stop. So i stoped to come on the forum. Now you leaving it's bad news, not just for me as you see on the answers from the other guys.

I'm little afraid cause you leaving, the name of the company changing (as Benj stated above), maybe more changes to come... (Benj are you still nailed on the floor there on Matrix? :?: ) If it goes ahead that way may i loose my battle and never get the pro license.

Anyway Jonny, thank you for the patience and efforts, have luck on your new job and challenges!!

Cheers!!

Hi jonny,

Just a quick question, are you still going to be active as a forum member.
Or did you make the decision to be not involved with any flowcode stuff once you leave matrix.

Regards, Jordy

Hi.

Thank you all for your very kind words, I will miss the forum activity as it is a learning experience for me (especially when it comes to hardware!) as much as anyone.

Possibly, yeah. I tend to use the forums to help us design a better product, as I find our users advice and feedback to be invaluable to the design - obviously there will be no need to do that anymore! But (depending on how busy I am kept at Rapita!) it will be good to visit the forums. I assume I will be loosing my VC privileges once I leave though!

All the best on your future life.
You will be sorely missed here. Let yourself once in a while here.
Benj, you and certainly all the others in the Matrix Team do a great job! We learn a lot from Matrix Team.
Carry on as before. You will certainly go very far. I am sure.

All the best

Best wishes from Germany
