Schematic Drawing Program

Post by Kenrix2 »

I am looking for an easy to use program to draw my circuits with an output format that can be imported into the Flowcode Panel. A free or low cost version would be nice since I am just a hobbyist. Anyone have a suggestion?

Hello,

We have thought about either adding a schematic feature into Flowcode or interfacing with another companies product to allow connections etc to be assigned, components auto added to the panel etc. It would also work in reverse as you could generate a schematic from your Flowcode program.

Maybe a feature for Flowcode6 as it supports external plugins and DLLs. Would just be a case of decoding and parsing the 3rd party software file.

Hi Ben,

Does that mean that anyone could make a plugin for Flowcode v6 ?
Will there be any kind of documentation on how to do this ?

Just curious.

I did finally find an easy to use free one after many internet downloads which is what I was trying to avoid by starting this post.
It is called TinyCAD. Flowcode does have an issue with it though. A direct import results in a big black box, however, if i import the
TinyCAD png output to a drawing program and reduce the overall size, Flowcode will display it in the panel. Best one I can find so far.
If anyone else knows of another easy to use low cost schematic drawing program that is Flowcode friendly, please let me know.

Edit: Corrected typo error in the name, TinyCAD.

That's the idea yes.

The documentation needs some work but yes we should be able to do things like articles on how to create a component, a plugin and other things.

That's great thanks for sharing, could you provide a screenshot of how it looks.

Just had a look at that myself, will have a try looks interesting
Just a caution, the installer tries to get you to install real player and some scanner software.

This page has a load of screen shots
