If you search for the forum for the "error 997", you will find that it is a driver version issue. For example, see here:
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/mmforum ... =error+997

This should fix the problem.

Hello davidA
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/support ... f=22&t=510 in this link:
To allow PPP to communicate with the USB programmer board you have to goto Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager. Then find the Matrix USB programmer under the USB section and double click it. Once inside the property page goto the power settings tab and disable the tick box saying allow windows to power down this device.
i didnt find the tick box to disable it .actually thats the aknown device

You are correct - someone else in our organisation had moved some redundant/duplicate posts to a new area where only our staff have access. I didn't realise this, so sorry for the mis-information!

On to your problem, you need to update the driver for the ECIO to the latest version. If it continues to fail, you need to reset the ECIO while the program "ECIOprog" is running (this will hold the ECIO in bootloader mode and allow it to show up in the device manager). Once this is done, you can locate the ECIO in device manager and then turn off the power management setting.

Hopefully this will sort out the problem for you. Please let us know how you get on.

Have you unticked the "allow windows to turn off power to this device" for the ECIO in the device manager?

Hello misoct,

The way to be able to view the power management section of the ECIO driver would be to load up the ECIO prog and then get the program to hold your ECIO in programming mode by connecting to the device, then go to device manager and the ECIO should be visible near the top as a custom USB device, you can then enter the properties for this and one of the tabs should be "Power management" under this tab you should be able to untick the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Hello,

When reprogramming an ECIO that is running a USB component you may have to hold the rest button for a second or two when resetting to send a new program. This is simply to let the USB component time to unregister on Windows so that the ECIO USB device can take its place correctly. I have found that resetting by tapping the button can occasionally cause programming failures.

For your USB serial problem. Do you mean the properties in Flowcode for the component or do you mean the device manager properties? Can you explain further.
