Problems when trying to compile to chip?

Post by Werner »

Hi Guys,
In trying to compile to a 16F877A chip FlowCode looks successful. However I am not getting anything out of my EB006 as I would expect. Martin has helped me in the past with chip configuration problems and I am thinking that may be where my issue is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Werner

Hi Werner,
You will not get the correct display from LCD because your Low Voltage Programming is set to enabled. If you disable it in the expert configuration, then reprogram.
Hopefully you will then get desired results.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for the quick reply! I did have it set to disable but in messing around with settings I forgot to change it back. This is what I am getting with the corrected configuration (Please see pic). I just know I have something not checked, jumper’ed or switched correctly? Just can’t figure out what.

Thanks for the help!
Werner

Looking again at the picture of your programmer, the switch just below the xtal that is for RC and xtal, looks like it's set on RC. Try sliding it to the right (xtal), and press reset button, or remove and reconnect power to programmer and see if that solves the problem, since looking at the display on the lasted pic, looks like it could be a timing issue?

Hello Werner

For the LCD Eblock :

- The BLACK wire is not useful ( GND is the pin "9" of the D9)
- Where is connected the RED wire on the EB006 ? (it seems on +14V of the power screw terminals !!). LCD needs +5V.

Hi Dan,
Yeah I wasn’t paying attention when reading the Data sheet! I saw the power reference of +14v but didn’t look carefully to notice that it was for the EB006 setup notes. It does work now with +5 but it looks like I damaged the LCD board a little. I ordered another one.

Thanks again for the help Guys!!
