We have had reports that the turned pins used on the ECIO range are too fragile so we have started moving to the more common square pins to try and ensure that the product is the best it can be for our users.

To get around the issue of a square pin and a round hole we are currently sending our EB061 boards out with a couple of adapters that convert the round holes on the board to square holes that can suit the new square pin style.

This means that current EB061 hardware can work with either pin style.

If you already have an EB061 and wish to use it with new style ECIO devices then you will also need the adapters.

Note that you need two of the 20-way Sockets for each EB061 board you wish to be compatible with square pin ECIOs.
