Small-signal Transistors - TO92

These two small-signal transistors provide common-emitter current gains of between 150 and 200 and they are supplied in a plastic TO92 package. Transistors of this type are ideal for use as general purpose amplifiers and as low-current switches.

Small-signal Transistors - TO18

These small-signal transistors are supplied in TO18 packages and they exhibit common-emitter current gains of between 175 and 250. Transistors of this type are used in audio amplifiers and for general purpose applications.

Medium Power Transistor - TO5

Medium-power transistors are often supplied in TO5 packages. These particular devices offer a maximum collector power dissipation of 1W with current gain in the range from 50 to 125. Transistors of this type are often used as driver stages in power amplifiers.

Power Transistors - TO220

This TO220 packaged power transistor is rated at a maximum collector power dissipation of 15W and it is able to withstand collector-emitter voltage of up to 65V. The device is ideal for use in the output stage of a power amplifier (in which case it is normally used in conjunction with another complementary transistor).

Power Transistors - TO3

In very high power applications (e.g. at power levels of 50W, or more) it is necessary to provide a transistor with very effective means of conducting the heat away from the semiconductor junction. This metal-cased TO3 packaged transistor can be used very effectively with a metal finned heatsink to ensure that the junction remains cool. This particular transistor is rated at a maximum collector power dissipation of 115W.
