HP488-00-3 USB problems

Have installed the driver and the board works ie I can download a program from Flowcode. But when the USB is disconnected and reconnected I get the message No USB cable and the USB Icon appears in the lower right corner.
The only way to continue is to shut down and restart the pc.
I am using Windows XP Professional

I have tried to disable the power down by windows but this option is not available for the matrix driver on my pc.

Hello

Please try reisnstalling PPP by downloading the file from the link below. When running the installer you will be given the option to uninstall PPP. Once you have done this please run the install again to install a fresh copy of PPP. Next insert the HP488 into your USB and goto your Windows device manager. In here please find the matrix board under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers and right click and uninstall. Then unplug and replug the board from the USB and that should force the new drivers to be used. Hopefully now the power management tab should appear allowing you to disable the windows power shutdown functionality.
