one wire pull up question

my question is, do i need to use a 4.7 k pull up resistor or can i use something more or less than 4.7k, reason being im sitting at home and dont have the right resistor but have 9k resistor sitting here. dont feel like goin to radioshack

I think you can get away with a 10K so a 9K resistor should be fine.
