EB066 GSM Problems

Post by Dave Squibb »

Hi all,

I have just purchased a EB066-00-4 Eblock. It is plugged in to a EB006-00-06 programmer board.
The latest EB066 data sheet I can find is for EB066-00-2. I have followed the test procedure on this sheet and connected
LCD and keypad eblocks as described. I have downloaded GSM_Test.fcf and opened it in Flowcode 6.1.1.0. It compiles
ok and I've sent the hex to a PIC16F877A.

The Data Sheet says the LED on the EB066 should flash for 3 seconds - there is no LED on the EB066-00-4 that I can see.
The display reads "Starting"and that's it. I can see no mention of the keypad in the test program.

The Sim card is from GiffGaff which I believe is on the O2 network. The article" Re: EB066-00-1 GSM Connection Problems"
mentions a problem with O2 and 900MHz but says "We aim to solve this issue for the next revision of the EB066 GSM board."
Has this been done on the EB066-00-4 board?

I have now got an Orange Sim but can't activate it without the phone number. I can't get the phone number without putting the Sim in a mobile phone........
Also you can't talk to a human with Orange / EE!

Any help with any or all of the above would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Dave.

Hi Dave,

I have found a bug in the example and fixed it now. This topic is also currently active so might make sense for you to join in here.
