Schools excel in Engineering Science with Matrix TSL

Engineering Science is a commonly taught subject in Scottish schools and take up is growing. Recently, we told you about the rise of Engineering Science in Scotland. Since then, we have seen more schools contact us about some of our kits for science and technology. Locktronics and Automatics have seen a huge rise in take-up within Scottish institutions in recent months. Automatics in particular, as a flexible tool for teaching pneumatics is proving popular. The range, previously known as Airways, (offered by Economatics) was only launched by Matrix in 2013.

According to the SQA website, Engineering Science qualifications develop a range of technological skills, including skills in analysis and problem solving, design skills, skills in the use of equipment and materials, and skills in evaluating products and systems.

The Courses bring together elements of science, technology, and mathematics, apply these to real-world challenges, and build challenging, coherent and enjoyable journeys for learners through all levels. With insights into the opportunities and challenges in engineering, the Courses provide a strong basis for further study or a career in any branch of engineering.

With this in mind, a number of Matrix TSL solutions fit the bill. If you’re interested in seeing some of these solutions in action, or would like to speak to us about the potential for using these solutions at your school, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Laura Stevens at Matrix on 01422 252380 or laura.stevens@matrixtsl.com
