Pneumatics Overview
Pneumatics is a product range designed for teaching and learning about pneumatic and automation systems in classrooms. The components are the same as those used by engineers but adapted for quick, tool-free assembly by students.
The range includes industry standard components, each on a clear acrylic carrier marked with relevant symbols. Students use ‘tee’ bolts and nylon tubing to build working pneumatic circuits on a stable aluminium platform.

Pneumatics Solutions
Pneumatics solutions fit into many different disciplines as they can be used to teach Technology, Basic engineering and Mechanical engineering. Solutions are packed in rugged plastic trays and include power supplies where necessary and generous quantities of ‘consumables’ such as pneumatic tubing and fixings. Add-on packs are also available that are designed to extend the features of your core solution and all solutions are supplied with a full and comprehensive curriculum.
Pneumatics in Industry
In industry, complex pneumatic systems are often controlled by a PLC. Matrix Pneumatics can be controlled by a Siemens PLC with HMI.Â
The AU0205 is powered by a 24V DC power supply and features pre installed programmes as students work through the relevant curriculum.Â
Pneumatics Solutions
In addition to individual carriers, we offer four curriculum support solutions.
The control add-on kit, for example, allows students to advance from basic pneumatics to programmable control applications using pre-programmed items preloaded into the Siemens PLC with HMI.
These solutions provide a core set of components that can be expanded with specialist parts as needed. An air compressor and conditioning unit are not included as standard, but we offer one on our components page.
